Record Store Day is a special day celebrating physical record/music shops. Various labels and artists produce special/limited edition releases just for that day, some in very limited quantities. 2020 was a relatively good year for electronic music related releases with some quite significant, different USA/European releases - with the UK/Europe coming out tops for electronic related releases.

Record Store Day 2020 was originally supposed to be on Saturday 18th April but due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic was moved to Saturday 20th June. On the 29th April, with the COVID-19 pandemic worsening, it was then announced that the release lists would be changing and they would be doing three different "RSD Drops" on Saturdays in August (29th), September (26th) and October (24th). The new lists were published on the 1st of June. In addition, Record Store Day releases could be sold online at 18:00 on the day to enable "safe distance shopping".

Instead of Record Store Day on the 20th June 2020, to help physical record stores that were shut due to coronavirus lockdown measures, independent record labels in the United Kingdom created a separate online only event called Love Record Stores Day for the 20th June 2020. For some reason Record Store Day got shirty, cos apparently helping physical record stores sell stuff online during a pandemic is bad, and hassled the organisers a lot but eventually relenting to only force them to drop the word "day" from the title - record stores were then able to sell special limited edition releases online from 09:00 UK BST on that day - we've listed the electronic releases of note from that event below too.
